Introducing Print Publication Services
In 2025, Bright Archives began offering print publications to our clients. Here’s everything you need to know.
Never Imagined That We’d Do the Things We’ve Done: A Celebration of Sixty Years. Published by Bright Archives, 2025.
Why print publications?
In today’s everything-is-digital age, books and print publications stand out. We’ve seen a growing need for tangible printed works, which bring a timeless quality that digital-first products lack. They’re also a lasting keepsake, making them a great choice for preservation-focused content like histories, timelines, interviews, archival records, and more.
Print publications complement our other services, too. We work with people and organizations to uncover and manage their archives and histories, and bring those found stories to life through film, video documentation, podcasts, audio tours, and other media. Now, we’re excited to add print publications to our storytelling toolkit, offering another powerful way to distribute information.
What’s our approach to print publications?
We create books and publications that highlight heritage, legacy, and artistic practice, handling everything from research and writing to design and printing.
We believe that the stories of archives, family memories, and organizational histories deserve to be told with high-quality design and narrative—so we treat our print publications with the same ethics of care, deep listening, and visual quality as all of our services. Our approach is centered on collaboration and attention to detail, and we create a variety of publications to suit different needs.
We specialize in volumes that preserve history and heritage, present interviews, and commemorate anniversaries, and document lived experiences. Examples include custom coffee table books, photo albums, oral history books, and commemorative brochures and zines.
What’s a recent example?
For a genealogy project in 2025, we completed a 200-page book titled Never Imagined That We’d Do the Things We’ve Done: A Celebration of Sixty Years. We blended family photographs with an art-book aesthetic, creating a visually compelling celebration of the family’s past and future. It was also a tribute to the family photograph as a powerful medium for preserving history.
The book comemorated the 60th anniversary of the matriarch and patriarch of the family. Pulling from the family’s archive, we weaved together original writing, oral history interviews, and archival documents and photographs to tell their story across the generations, dating back to the 18th century.
We handled each stage of the publishing process, from research and writing to design, editing, and printing. The cover, which is original artwork by Bright Archives, honors the family’s multicultural heritage, blending together motifs and colors from folk art traditions.
