We rebranded! Introducing Why We Collect.
While recording episodes of the Bright Archives Podcast, we realized that both the Collector’s Edition series and the Vernacular Archives series were centered around collecting—collecting lapel pins, books, and photographs; collecting memories and experiences; collecting reasons for why we collect. So, we thought it was time to consolidate our efforts and spruce up the design. Also, Bright Archives Podcast is a rather clunky name for a podcast.
Why We Collect presents thoughtful conversations about the objects we keep—and create.
With the help of people who spend an inordinate amount of time managing objects and reflecting on their meanings—from collectors to curators, artists to archivists, and enthusiasts to entrepreneurs—we try to make sense of our messy material world.
Why We Collect is co-produced and co-hosted by Katherine Barbera and David Bernabo of Bright Archives, an independent archival production house. Look for a new episode in April 2024!
